    The House Committee on Health and Human Resources moves to amend the bill on page one, following the enacting clause by deleting the bill in its entirely and inserting in lieu thereof the following:

    On page three, section six, subsection (a), subdivision (7),following the word number “(7)” and the period, by deleting all of subdivision (7) and inserting in lieu thereof the following: "Authorization to temporarily suspend the certification of an individual emergency medical service provider without a hearing or prior notice if there is probable cause that the conduct or continued service or practice of any certificate holder may create a danger to public health or safety, in accordance with the procedures required by section nine of this article; and"; and

    On page seven, line 9, following the word “holder” and the period by deleting subsection (e) and inserting in lieu thereof the following:

"(e) The commissioner or the director may enter into a consent decree or hold a hearing for the suspension or revocation of the license or certification or the imposition of sanctions against the licensee or certificate holder. If the commissioner finds that the continued conduct of the certificate holder creates a danger to the health and safety of the public, the commissioner may suspend the certificate holder and shall hold a hearing within 15 days and make a determination within 5 days of the hearing. At that time, the commissioner shall inform the certificate holder of the outcome of the hearing in writing.
